If Tokyo Kaikan is a quiet oasis in the midst of the frenzy of the city's business district, the Union Club is an even more private, more refined hideaway for executives. This exclusive business club features exceptionally comfortable bar and dining facilities. The keyword here is spaciousness, something lacking in most of Tokyo's restaurants. Members and guests can dine and relax here, with panoramic views of the Imperial Palace grounds.

Needless to say, the Union Club is a members-only facility, a sister club of the St. James Club in London (our members share exchange privileges with members of that club). However, membership in the Union Club is open to anyone, the fees are quite reasonable (in fact, there is no fee, only a deposit), and foreign members are most welcome.

Why would a foreign company be interested in membership?
Two things come to mind immediately:
developing social contacts with our current members, who are senior executives of some of the top companies in Japan, and access to a uniquely prestigious location for meeting your own clients and contacts.

Why is that important?
First of all, because many Western businesses don't know their way around Tokyo as well as their clients do, so choosing places to entertain is always a problem. In addition, many foreign firms are located outside of Tokyo's traditional business center. While that has various advantages from a corporate standpoint, it makes it difficult to meet with many of your Japanese clients. Thus, more and more foreign executives are discovering that they can use the Union Club as a very private, convenient, and impressive place to entertain their clients.

Foods and wines at the Union Club are selected by our chefs from among the finest in Tokyo Kaikan's extensive culinary repertoire, and our bartenders are artists in their own right. In addition to the spacious main dining and bar areas, the Club also provides three private rooms, either for private parties or for more sensitive business meetings.
